My 3 yo just started Stuttering

My nearly 3yo just begin stuttering. Last week she was saying everything like a champ. This week she is stuttering words that's she know for a long time. Her name is Kaelynn and she's never had issues pronouncing it..All of the sudden it's, K-K-K-Kaelynn....She has been stuttering mostly c's and k's but today i noticed it with a few more words. What gives? We haven't started anything big and new. I asked the ped. about it today at my DS's well baby check and the ped. said not to worry that it was just a phase. But I'm worried. What can I do to help? It seems to be getting worse fast.

I think it is well with in normal range for most kids, usually doesn't last too long and sometimes pops up again with developmental stages or stress.

Thanks for the re-assurance. I just hate to see her struggle with this. She gets frustrated when she can't get her words out so i just give her my full attention and time so she doesn't seem rushed. At first i thought maybe it was for attention but then i heard her doing it when she was talking and playing with her younger brother...thanks tho I do feel a bit better

DD1 developed a stutter when she turned 2 & it is bad. She will run out of breath before getting the first word out sometimes. We were just ignoring it until she got frustrated one day. Her ped said that if they are stuttering in the middle of the sentence (not just at the beginning), that is when they get concerned. Well, dd1 will do that, so we are getting a speech evaluation.

I say give it a month or two to see if it goes away. That is what we did & it did not go away, so we are getting it checked out.
