Endless doctors, lactation consultants, and therapists. One ENT doctor said he had no tongue tie. Another ENT doctor clipped a tie. Little improvement. Finally, an oral facial surgeon who sees his posterior tie. But now, DS is 4 months old and the surgeon will only clip it under general anesthesia.

We said no, thank you at the appointment. The surgeon wasn't sure how much it would help things (he didn't think the tie was too bad) and I shy away from putting DS under general for this.

But his nursing -- which always has good periods and bad periods -- is really bad right now. He's still gaining weight, it's not a health issue. It's just for my comfort and frustration level. It's hard to be just a few days out of hearing that there's an option -- and turning that option down -- and having things be so frustrating when we nurse.

But I'm not sure that it would even help at this late stage -- probably at least nearly 5 months by the time we had the surgery. Would he ever learn to use the new mobility?

Has anyone else had a tie clipped late and seen improvement?
