antibiotics and breastfeeding.. should I do anything different?

My c-section is infected and is positive for staph. Anyway, the Dr prescribed antibiotics and I was wondering if any probiotics are a good idea.. last thing I want is a thrush problem since I'm finally getting rid of my scabbed nipples and starting to feel better with breastfeeding.

Any advice to offset possible yeast problems? I feel like crap physically and this recovery is taking a toll on me emotionally.

Yes! Probiotics are a great idea .

I was on antibiotics postpartum for a different reason, and ended up with thrush about 5 days after stopping them. I was not careful to take the probiotics regularly after stopping the antibiotics.

You might also want to think about where you can get thrush treatments just in case it becomes an issue - I had a friend running all over town trying to find gentian violet because my nipples were killing me.

I hope the wound heals quickly and there is no sign of thrush!
