I really want the name Henry. Again. My husband can't stand it.
Neither will budge and 19 minutes after the baby is born will be trying to come up with something so we can sign the birth certificate. Yup, been there.
We semi agree on a girl's name, but I seem programmed for boys.
I love the name Henry too but the husbandit it pretty adamantly against it. My mother gave me this song and dance about how he doesn't get to choose cause i have to carry the baby for 9 months. I tried to tell her nicely that of course DH gets a voice in the name of his child. Sigh, mothers...
We don't disagree too much on names thankfully. But I love the name Emma and he doesn't. Also when I was pg with #2 I loved the name Lauren/Loren Alyse but he didn't. The only name he really loves that I don't is Dakota (for a boy). I have agreed to use it as a middle name if this one is a boy (Isaac Dakota) but I still don't really like it.
I LOVE the name Isla for a girl but he thinks it's weird and I really like Oscar for a boy and he said he won't name his kid after a Sesame Street character. After he shots down my names I ask him what he likes and he goes "Oh, I haven't given it any thought". Grrr!
i SOOOO wanted to name my little girl agnes dei. we would have called her dei (pronounced day). i still love that name, but everyone was so awful about it ...i wish i'd never told a soul. they convinced my husband it was bad. if my little boy had been a girl, his name was to be iris. my husband wasn't crazy about that either.
I like what my DH refers to as "hippie names" -- like Sparrow or Rain or River for a girl. He's so silly.
We pretty much agree on boy names, although he vetoed Seth for some reason...but honestly we have so many other boy names that we love (like Gideon and Henry and Levi and Louis) I'm okay with the occasional veto.

My sister pulled this and named her daughter something that EVERYONE including her Dh hated. Cute little girl, but 1 year later many of us are still cringing over the name.....Its Sawyer, which in itself isn't a bad name, but its for a girl and there are just so many pretty girl names. Plus, she only stumbled upon it one day and decided she liked it and when everyone told her "eh" she fixated upon it. In conversation I still get "for a girl?"
Sorry if anyone has this name...I think I'd like it better if there were a good reason or if BIL had at least liked it.

hehe I like Dakota....that's my dogs name. It means friend
My DH refuses to let me use the names Luke or Seth for a boy.
But after 3 pregnancies of saying he HATED one of the boys names I LOVE, he has finally changed his mind , and if this baby is a boy, I get to use the formal name, AND the nickname, both of which he previously said he despised! I'm so happy!
He's not thrilled about the name I like as a first name if it is a girl, but loves the middle name. I think he will come to love the first name as well.
I really likel Oilver but dh says it a dogs name..... ?!?!?!?! okay.
Dh actually has ended up pretty much naming our kids so far. i love their names and we agreed before hand but ulitmately he has chossed the names and I agreed
ETA last pregnancy he was dead set against Addison. Funnily enough ds1 had said he wants to name the baby that
I like Lola for a girl, and lots of old fashioned names which my husband hates. He gave in after our second was born and let me name her Eliza, but he wanted to name her Mandolyn, Dariah, or Delilah which I wasn't into. He says he gets to pick this time.... wondering what we'll end up, lol. The girls both have "song" names, Layla and Eliza Jane, so we'll look for another name from a good song.
