I wake up with hiccups almost every day and get them a few times during the course of the day. It's normal. Or at least I hope it is

You, or baby?

Either is perfectly normal... but I must warn you if its you they MAY not go away after baby comes! I have had hiccups daily since I had my son... its not fun. They are loud and annoying but luckily they only come every half hour to hour apart rather than every few minutes.

As for baby, mine has hiccups several times a day every day. Getting her lungs ready for after birth!

should've clarified- hiccups are the babies not mine-

My DD had several episodes throughout the day in the womb. She hiccuped quite a lot as a newborn too. She got the hiccups when I was in labour too and she was finally engaged. That felt way weird!

my daughter had them every day, even waking me up at night. They were pretty freaking annoying, they happened so often. It may be sign of reflux/allergies, because I have heard other people say that, too but I can't find anything to prove this theory. She still had them a lot as a baby and still does get them as a child.

Mine has started doing it so I googled and then wished I hadn't. If you want to hear the scary stuff pm me, if not, I'm not going to shove it in your face because I kind of wish I didn't know- in other words- IT'S PROBABLY TOTALLY NORMAL.

my middle child had them like six times a day- no joke. It's interesting to hear that frequent prenatal hiccups may be related to allergies, because she is my allergic kid.
I don't remember my eldest having them more that two or three times total. My youngest had them most days, not as frequently as his sister though.

My first baby hiccupped all the time in utero. Hiccupped all the time as an infant, too. No allergies or reflux, nothing bad. Don't worry.

I don't remember my first baby ever having hiccups in utero. This one gets them several times a day. It is a very strange sensation.

I'm fighting the urge to google it....I think I'm going to lose the battle and end up regretting it...

All four of my babies have hiccuped a lot - daily or more than once daily. They hiccuped on the outside, too. First time it happened "outside" I looked them up in Dr. Sears' Baby Book b/c I was worried. Not sure why since she hiccuped all the time "inside!" Normal new mom worries

All three of my babies hiccuped in utero the current one being the most frequent (up to 7 times a day.) I have read some things that say in rare instances it can be something bad, but my own ob told me it is perfectly normal. I find it comforting sometimes especially if she hasn't been moving that much.

My midwife just told me that hiccups are a sign of normal development and that if your baby doesn't hiccup it can be a bad thing. I enjoy it when the baby gets them- and I would say it happens at least once a day.

but you could also just not notice or feel them!

I know DH has woken me up once because our girly had the hiccups and he was wondering if she was okay (hes a first-timer so a rhythmic kicking worried him too) So yeah, totally possible baby has them while you sleep too!
