How do I get my 2.5 year old interested in self care? He doesn't care what he wears and when I say "Would you like to wear your red shirt or green shirt" he say's "I don't care you pick" He has no interest in getting himself undressed or dressed or pulling his pants and underwear up or down when pottying even easy to pull on stuff. He doesn't want to try to wipe his bum or empty his potty or any of that stuff.
He will takes his shoes off and put them on occasionally but he mostly wants me to do it for him. I am so used to the "Me do it" toddler who wants to do everything for themselves. DS seems pretty confident, at the park he will happily try climbing anything and will participate and try the stuff his gymnastics and swim coaches ask him to do. He doesn't seem to have self doubt in other areas besides the self care.
Anyway just looking for ideas on how to get him interested in doing stuff for himself, esp pulling down and up his pants/underwear as he starts pre-school part time (his idea) in Sept.
