Essential oils - how do brands differ, and which are the best?

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this!

I need to get some more tea tree oil - finally out after 2+ years!

Our local co-op carries Aura Cacia and, I think, NOW. And I can get Young Living stuff from someone locally. These are the only brands I am even aware of.

How do these brands compare? What are some other brands I might be interested in?

I am using E.O. more and more for everything from treating cough and cold to cleaning the house to deodorizing in the bathroom (mmmm grapefruit!). So I guess I should start learning more about them!

My parents swear by Young Living. I don't know too much about EOs, but I can honetly say that I only use YL stuff cause' I get it given to me - if I was paying there no way in heck I could afford it!! And, tbh, the stories out there on the web about Gary Young are *excedingly* disturbing, and I'm really not sure I'd be comfortable supporting him...

Hmmm.

I just googled Gary Young, and I think I'll stay away from Young Living!

I have used Aura Cacia and Wyndemere as those are all I can find in my area. I did order a bottle of citronella from NOW. I like all three and have not had any problems with them. I use them for a variety of reasons - cleaning, disinfecting and body care (skin, hair and deodorant).

As for Young Living? Hmm...what can I say that won't be a UAV? I first learned of Gary Young years ago in my hematology class (veterinary hematology). There was a case where he would have people send in blood smears and he would diagnose him based on the appearance of the cells. An undercover reporter sent in a smear of chicken blood. Chicken red blood cells look unbelievably different from human RBCs. Gary Young didn't bat an eye or mention that it wasn't human blood. Just presecribed his expensive treatment. But, that's the mild stuff in his history. Just google what happened to his first baby. I won't support a company like that, I don't care if the oils or good or not.

I like Aura Cacia, I also use Aromaforce, which I prefer actually, but I wouldn't go out of my way to buy it if I had AC available to me.
