12mo starting a cold 1 week b4 international travel - any btdt?

Hello mamas,

We just made a crazed, 11th hour decision to head to Edinburgh for a week to see friends during the Fringe (where we have worked/played for the last six years, excluding last year when DD was born).

We fly out next Tues (after a crazed, 11th hour appointment to get her a passport!). Today, she's got a runny nose and sneezes.

Anyone else cut it close with you little ones' illness and travel plans, or had to cancel? Your thoughts, experiences appreciated.

I don't recall either DD having a cold for all that long at that age. Even the croup that sent DD2 to the emergency room cleared up before a week had passed.

You could talk to your Dr about possibilities if she's got a stuffy nose, to protect her ears from the pressure on the flight. But other than that, I personally would just hope for the best.
