Oct 2009 mamas thread - Page 6

Congrats to all the September babies and their mamas and Happy Birth/Birthing Day!

I have a quick ques. Who has gotten their period back? We are coming up on 1 year here and she is till MIA for me. Not that I'm complaining, but it's unusual for me (Kara was conceived shortly after Caden's first b-day) I think it may be because I'm tandem nursing. What do y'all think?

Please pray for him that everything will go smoothly and we don't have any problems! Thank you!

I got mine back at about 7 months PP each time, with a warning (terrible sore nipples for a few days while nursing during that first postpartum ovulation).

No PPAF here, either. (TMI alert!) Tons of CM and abdomen twitches and itty bitty cramps though, so I'm assuming soon

I got mine at about 7 mo, then nothing for 2 months, then at 9mo it started up again and is now back to a 28-day cycle. boooo. DS still nurses a LOT, but obviously not as much as 2 LO's, so I think you're onto something with the tandem nursing keeping your AF at bay! I'm jealous!

DS has been driving me crazy this week. He is busier than usual and has started refusing his morning nap, even though he's clearly in need of one. he's been waking up screaming 2-3 times a night lately. I can't figure out what he needs and it's making me insane! he's already mastered the art of "limp noodle" when I try to remove him from danger, and he's also begun throwing tantrums. i am NOT looking forward to toddlerhood if he's already this monstrous.

I already mentioned it, but my 1st PPAF is here right now. I'd definitely guess that your tandeming could be keeping yours at bay, serenyd. I thought that mine came back because my baby (my only nurser now) suddenly started eating a lot more solids right at 10mos old. I think the amount & frequency that you're nursing majorly comes into play (for most moms, anyway).

DD is still nursing at LEAST 10+ times a day still, so I imagine that has a lot to do with it. Though I went back to school 3 weeks ago, so being separated from her for 10 hours a day might change it all.

12wks post partum (way later than the 6wks pp with ds 1 - yikes) - never supplemented, still nurse 8-12 times a day, tandem-ed at the beginning.

Ds has his first Birthday Last Saturday, we had a bbq with family and friends, it was a lot of fun. THings have been crazy around here since the kids started school!! My first born ds isn't doing so great in school so that has been stressful.

My dh was scheduled to have the Big -V a while ago and cancelled the appointment, he now has a different appointment made for the 12th but it came a little too late. I haven't told our family yet only a couple friends, I am still trying to process
congratulations!

my dh had the scalpel-free v back in june and other than discomfort, he didn't find it too rough at all (beyond the usual man-complaining

we just had a simple birthday for rett. food and a few friends over.

my mom did drive up (5hr drive) and surprise us for his actual birthday on friday - the day after getting home from a 2wk trip to ireland - she just stayed until saturday eve before heading back (my parents have a b and b and were fully booked so she couldn't stay long).

happy birthday / mama-versary for our october 09 group!

Thanks Ladies

I can't belive some of you haven't even gotten your period back yet!! I got mine back at 3mos despite nursing round the clock

still no ppaf here either. although i have had some pg symptoms (long distance smelling, crampy/gasy feeling, exhaustion, nesting). no soar bb's though which was my biggest symptom with ds. dh & i just dropped b/c a few weeks ago, so i may be testing soon. what are the odds that after ttc for 2 years with ds we caught the 1st pp egg?

The linkie to the archives brought a tear to my eye. Owen will be one in 3 days and I am totally happy about it. He's a ton of fun at this age, but busy, OMGosh how busy he is. took DD to the library today and luckily I live in a small town, the librarian has known me since I was a little girl, so she tried to help hold Owen while we looked for stuff. He's a monster boy, she said "oh he must be harder than DD was", in fact though he's not. DD ran away all the time and threw screaming fits. Owen just runs and laughs when we catch him.

I got my PPAF back at the same time as my PP bleeding with BOTH kids, DD 9 weeks, DS 7 weeks. I personally don't believe in LAM at all, I practiced all the things that theoretically should keep AF at bay, nursing round the clock, in the dark, all hours of the day and night. Never works for me. I guess my fertility is just that ingrained. I got my tubes tied so no pregnancy for me, and I am fine with that. Owen and Nora are just high energy kids and I knew 2 is my max capacity for my own sanity I'm a good mom to 2, but I'd be a mediocre mom to more.

No period yet for me yet either. I've been expecting it forever though. Dylan has been refusing to nurse a lot but it still hasn't made my period come back yet.

I can't believe that a year has almost passed by. We are still having a lot of struggles but DS is going for allergy testing next week so hopefully we'll get some answers. He did finally start crawling though!! He's still working at it, but he's getting better.

I can't even imagine having another baby now. I could do the pregnancy part but oh my goodness this has been a rough year. Maybe one day I'll get to sleep and I may feel a little different.

Happy Birthday to everyone and congratulations to those in another DDC!

I hope southernmommie wouldn't be upset by my mentioning it, but I read in another thread (and in her sig), that she's due with her next baby next month! She was in our DDC, her baby came 10/18, and now her next one is due this 10/29! Maybe she announced it & I missed her announcement, but I was all excited just now to discover it. She's got to be the 1st of us to become pregnant again! I'm going to go send her a PM so she knows I'm over here talking about her. I can't wait to hear her next birth story!!

Hi guys!! I didn't realize that y'all were still posting here. Boy have I missed out!

I am due on the 29th of October. Leah was due on the 29th also, but came on the 18th. We weren't trying to get pregnant. I had to stop bf'ing and start formula about January because I was having surgery mid-February. According to the dates, we got pregnant literally a couple of days before my surgery. We had no clue until a month AFTER surgery!! I cried when I peed on the stick. We were done having kids and waiting for the v doctor to call hubby back to start his appointments. Now, we're not having it done and are talking about having more kids but after a year or two so I can get my body healthy again.

I'll have to go through and read back a few pages and catch up with y'all and your babies!
