Moving to London

Hello mamas

After a year in Amsterdam, we (DH, 4 yr old DD, myself) are moving to London UK. We are unable to decide which area in London to move!!! The rents there is driving us crazy. I have heard great things about NW London. Can anyone tell me about West Hampstead specifically as rentals there are a tad bit cheaper for 2BR.
Any other neighborhood that we should consider (DH's office is at Canary Wharf).
Any feedback about Putney?
Also, this will be our first year of official homeschooling (Waldorf inspired) so also want to make sure we have a good support HS group in the neighborhood.

Thanks for responding

Hi,

I live in london, (west). Not sure about west hampstead. Putney I used to live near and its nice as you have the river there and can walk to the park. Plus tube and overground access. If you OH is working in Canary warlf just check he's ok with the commute from west london. http://journeyplanner.tfl.gov.uk/
Chiswick is really nice. So is richmond but may be a little far west. Not sure about homeschooling groups, but there are lots of other forums and meet up groups around london and I'm sure other mama's would know.
