Cervix placement - is this "normal"?

MW was here Thursday and said baby's head is so low it has pushed cervix to the side. I felt myself - baby's head is "right there"!!! - and where I *think* I normally feel my cervix - everything seems re-arranged in there right now.

My mw did not seem concerned about it - just said things could possibly go fast because cervix is also very thin. That says to me she thinks things will "straighten out" on their own once labor starts.

Dh was a little worried, though. What can I tell him to ease his un-easiness?

If you or your DH is concerned, call the midwife and ask her.

I have a cervix which is often shifted to my left- sometimes a little, sometimes a lot. It has always shifted back to center for laboring.

it's normal, and from the pressure of the baby's head pushing down. it should resolve when you go into labor, prob arround 4-5 cms.

:)

I talked to my midwife about easing dh's fears. She assured me it's normal and that it will resolve during labor.

Speaking of labor: I think I lost the cervical mucus plug this morning (or part of it at least?) and even though there's STILL no pattern to my contractions - they are getting strong and painful today and there are more of them - just not real close together and more often when I stand up, bend over, walk, etc.. not just "because" I'm in labor.

Hoping for some consistency soon. I feel so "crampy" today.
