I hate my body (bleeding question)

Did anyone have 2nd trimester bleeding? I want pos and neg stories.

Last week (actually, exactly a week ago...what's up with Wednesdays?) I wiped after peeing and there was some blood on the tp. This continued ALL DAY but never enough to make it on to a pair of panties. No cramping really (just the same growing cramps) so I just rested and called my MW (who also told me to rest) DH and I had DTD a couple of days before so that's what we all assumed it was. I went through the entire weekend with zero problems.

And now it's happening again...this time with some vaginal pain. I'm really hoping it's just an infection that needs to be handled. I asked DH if he can get off work early and going to the ER (my MW is an hour away...) I'm almost 16 weeks so I'm a bit freaked out by this because I know it *can* mean something scary.

Ugh.

Thank you.

I'm thinking that it's fine because it comes and goes. I don't know how much blood constitutes an emergency.

I had a subchorionic hematoma under 80% of the gestational sack with my youngest. It was diagnosed at 6 weeks, and caused me to bleed off and on through my second trimester. She's a beautiful 7 yo now.

Hoping you have a good outcome as well. I'll be thinking of you.

I had some at the very end of my second tri this time (never had bleeding in pregnancy with the other two until I had bloody show!)

mine... we never figured out what it was but just assume a mixture of DTD/cervical trauma and stress (physical and emotional, it was just before my wedding)

I ended up on bedrest and pelvic rest through my wedding! yeah... THAT was fun. Now, Im not on bedrest but I have had my doctor tell me to be very careful about what I do... and my midwife keeps telling me I need to relax so this baby can stay in a couple more weeks.

But in any case, an ultrasound a week later showed nothing. My previous placenta previa had cleared and there was no signs of any bleeding.

Good luck!

I have been really stressed out this time around for various reasons. Worse than with DS. Could that be part of it?

I'm sure you've probably done some probing to confirm where the blood was coming from, but when I was pregnant with my daughter I had a UTI in my second trimester (18 weeks?) that left blood every time I wiped. I had a complete freakout and after a few bathroom trips I confirmed the source seemed to be ureter/bladder/urethra, and not the vagina. A urine test confirmed a UTI even though I had no other UTI symptoms except the blood (antibiotics cleared it up). It happened again later in my pregnancy but the blood on the TP was less consistent (again, a UTI though). I hope it turns out to be something minor.

indeed... my midwife is very on me about relaxing because we are afraid of more bleeding or preterm labor.

If it helps, her suggestions are Bachs Rescue Remedy (I got the pastilles, have one any time I start to feel overwhelmed), warm baths with lavender, chamomile tea (sleepy time tea with honey is yummy) and calms forte to help me sleep.

Plus, trying to remember that the things I am stressing over are out of my control (my dads health, my grandmothers health, loss of a friend in Afghanistan) and that what is in my control is relaxing for baby and making her time as pleasant as I can.

It seemed a bit selfish at first but the more I thought about it the more I realized just how right she is... stressing over other peoples health does not help them any and only hurts me!
