Because it has been tested to contain high amounts of bromine/bromide which is an iodine antagonist. And some have tested with other chemicals such as arsenic.

How soon after taking supplements should you start noticing an improvement in symptoms? I've been taking iodine, C, multi, and fish oils for two weeks now.

Depends, I would consult Dr. Brownstein's book and the Research section of Optimox where they talk about patient treatment.
