Has anyone tried Mango Seed for teething?

Has anyone used a regular or frozen mango seed for teething?
I read about this somewhere awhile ago and thought if I ever had a child I might try it.
Seems like it would be a good idea.
I'm sitting here at work eating a mango and thought maybe I would pop the seed in the freezer to take home to DD.

Seems like a good idea. I'm allergic to it, though, so I don't touch mango seeds with a 10 foot pole!

I think the only thing to be aware of is that mango is in the same family as latex, so if there is an allergy to that, you would want to avoid mango. Otherwise, I think it's probably just fine!

I gave my kiddos mango pits for teething when they were little. They LOVED them! I never tried frozen though. My kids never liked cold hands so it probably wouldn't have worked for them.

Yeah, I was reading that mango is in the latex family with pineapple and the like, so it could be a problem.

That's true. I usually wrap the bottom part of a frozen banana with a cloth wipe when I'm giving it to her.
I kinda want to give her the whole mango seed and let her handle it herself, so maybe I won't freeze it.

I always did it shirtless. It is a messy snack! Oh, and a great picture taking opportunity too. I gave them to my kids because one of my friends said she had seen the mamas in Nicaragua giving the mango pits to their little ones.
