I have been practicing yoga for 20 years, doing meditation and chanting. Personally - I can't see why people get so bent out of shape. I might be connecting to "my inner truth" which is the same as your "God" when we do yoga and meditate. Since doing kundalini yoga (very big on chanting), I've lost 30 pounds and stabilized a lot of health issues ... it's not just a regular form of exercise for me - it's been life changing.
