When would you start to worry?

I'm 27-28 weeks. Baby has been laying comfortably in a frank breech position for a while now. I've read about the different things we can do to get Baby to change into the correct position, BUT at what point do I start worrying about this and begin the excercises, acupuncture, Webster, etc...? I'm trying not to worry, as it is early yet and I know Baby has some time to flip.

baby was mostly breech and transverse for me until 34 weeks... its not a bad thing to start working on coaxing them into position, but don't stress over it, baby can still move around in there very easily... just as easily out of position as into position.

You can follow my drama over this in the September DDC! My babe has been breech since we started checking position, and at nearly 35 weeks is still breech. We're now edging up on a version. Certainly exercises from Spinning Babies won't hurt, and neither would regular chiropractic care. My midwives recommended acupuncture starting at 36 weeks, and my first real Webster adjustment was at 34 weeks. I got serious about the spinning babies excercies around 34 weeks too. 28 to 34 weeks is the range of what I read was normal to have babies settle in head down.

Best of luck for a vertex baby, soon!

I'm with the other 2 ladies in the Sept DDC and my breech/transverse stinker just flipped yesterday. Hoping he stays head down...

I agree with ilovemyavery re: Spinning Babies and chiropractic care. Perhaps by being proactive you can avoid the significant cash outlay I've had in the last 2 weeks for chiro, massage, etc!

It's very normal for babies to be breech at this point. My guy was breech until just within the last week (I'm 31 weeks). Personally I wouldn't worry too much until around 34 weeks.

I was told by my midwife that if babe hasn't turned by 37 weeks they would consider it breech and do a versioin. I had a breech until 36 weeks, then babe flipped and has stayed flipped. Up until that point I was laying upside down on the hill, doing handstands in water. It worked. I think up until that point the LO still had lots of room to spin in circles.

If you're really worried, you are far enough elong to get the Webster technique. The baby may still turn on it's own too, but it's not going to hurt anything to ahead and get it if you want to.

personally, after having my last baby stay breech until 35 weeks - I started to 'worry' around 31-32 weeks and at that point started seeing my chiropractor weekly and paying more attention to little things i could do to help position.. .. baby has been mostly head down for 2 weeks now, though she has flipped a couple times (the last 2 sundays, after/during my time in the swimming pool) with my last baby i had to go to the chiropractor 3-4 days a week from 34-36 weeks to get baby to turn and stay head down and i didn't really want to do that again , which is why i decided to start seeing him more often sooner.. (he agreed, it was a good idea btw)

I think you still have lots of time. I'm 22 weeks and he walks his way going all the way around with no problems pretty much everyday. Even if I tried to figure out what position he was in he'd flip as soon as I got a clue. You should have seen him at our anatomy ultrasound! You can start doing some simple things if you want but its still kind of early to be too worried.

My chiro was JUST telling me today that he and a 34-week patient were able to get her baby turned this last week.

I tried everything to get my daughter to turn at 34 weeks. Frozen peas, music, talking, spinning babies, standing on my head, laying on the ironing board, had an appointment with a chiro on the list next. In the end, what turned her is visualization. I meditated with my hypnobabies CD and visualized her rotating, from start to finish. Fell asleep, had a very VIVID dream she moved, woke up and I felt different. Lumps all in a different spot. Had the midwife confirm the next day by sono at my NST that indeed, she had turned!

ETA, my midwife said not to start worrying until 36 weeks.

My DS2 was a flipper and was breech/transverse all the way up until maybe a week before I went into labor. I actually went to the hospital to have a EV done to flip him and when the doc put the wand of the u/s on my belly he said "Well, my job is done- he's head down!".

Thanks for all the encouraging stories- I'm 32 weeks right now and he/she is transverse. Trying not to worry....
