Diapers to trainers

My 1 yr old has been ECing since 1month old. When he has his cloth diaper on he holds it great and I only use 1 diaper per day (night he tends to wet still). So a few weeks ago we made the daytime switch to trainers. he doesn't seem to care if he wets these though (he only poops in the toilet still), so I tried some naked time and he doesn't seem to care that he pees on himself....and he stops and looks before he pees so he knows the sensation. i'm kind of at a loss at what to do. Suggestions?

He may just be fascinated at how the urine comes out of the trainer. It's new and interesting and not exactly like just going or getting trapped in a diaper.

Maybe give him more pottytunities (like every 45 mins or a little less) so he doesn't have enough in his bladder to experiment with the trainers?

My daughter also held it better with a diaper on! (I consider her a grad now.) It's like they are "reverse" diaper trained! No advice on how to make the switch, but I think it's pretty common for (some) EC babes to hold it more when wearing a diaper!

yeah maybe he feels nice and "free" with less padding!

a couple days ago my diaper free baby boy learned that he could pee in a bottle (he did this all on his own and i'm very confident never saw anyone do it! LOL). so now we have that option
