EC help

I just started EC'ing my 9 month old. We are potty-training my 2 yr old also so we are in potty-mode. She has the idea that she should pee when I put her on the potty, even looking down sometimes when she goes, and expectantly waiting for me to praise her. But she pees on the floor when I let her go "diaper free" I don't think that she is even trying to hold it in, because it is just a little bit at a time. She doesn't really signal when has to pee, that I can tell. She just goes. Any ideas? I have carpet...

It does take some time for the catches to outnumber the misses, and especially if you just started, I wouldn't even think twice about these misses. Even one catch is something to get excited about! If misses on the carpet make you anxious or upset or anything like that, then I'd limit diaper free time.

Hmmm... I just read Infant Potty Training and dying to try it out. (But still waiting for this LO to be born hehe)
There is something in there about peeing in spurts--some babies pee a little bit then hold it then pee some more after a few minutes... could it be this?
Otherwise maybe you could just try peeing her more often, esp during the diaper free time? You know, sit her on the potty before the accident can happen... much the same way I potty trained my 2 yr old!
