What type of baby carrier for me

I am the mom of an almost 5 month old son who loves, loves, loves to be outside. We love to walk around outside.

From birth until about 3.5 months I carried him in a Baby Bjorn which he adored as did I. I tried a moby wrap but it was not easy enough for me to manuver alone.

Baby Jake weighs about 16 pound. I am interested in getting another type of carrier for us now. I have heard alot of folks like Ergos. I can not afford a Ergo and was wondering if anyone knows of a tutorial I can make my own.

I am also open to others ideas of another type of carrier to try out.

Thanks for reading,

Personally, I'm not a fan of the Ergo. The straps are two wide for me (even with the chest clip). But, that's just my personal opinion on it, some people love it.

I say try to find a used carrier. Some sort of soft structured carrier (which the Ergo is).

Is there a babywearing group in your area (if you're anywhere near the triangle, there is)? That's a great resource for trying out lots of different carriers and figuring out what you like.

Maybe a mei tai? There are a lot on Etsy that are really good prices
Here is one (I think this is my favorite) http://www.etsy.com/listing/52829221...ref=v1_other_1

Also, there are 1/2 buckle mei tai's http://www.etsy.com/listing/51974158...rder=&includes[]=tags&includes[]=title

Or something like this http://www.etsy.com/listing/51187294...ref=v1_other_1

They cost a lot less than an Ergo. There are also baby carrier patterns for sale on Etsy.

Actually I do live in the Raleigh area. I am going to try to make arrangements to make it to Cary to the Triangle Babywearers meeting this Saturday.

I look forward to finding another carrier for us. I love carrying my son.
