All I can say is UggHHhhh BG AIO~

My DS is 20 lbs. and 30 in. tall and 16 mo...Petite like his mamma and sister. We have the large size AIO BG..The past two weeks have made me want to go back to sposies. He leaks through nearly every diaper. I have stripped them and then even tested to be sure that the water is not beading on them when i splash some on the dipe. Stripping them did help but solved nothing. He leaks through at Daycare and i feel bad because they have never done cloth there but agreed to since the BG are so easy. Everytime i pick him up he is in a new outfit because he leaked. They change diapers every 2 hours. I know its not them because it happens at home. I havn't figured out if it's a diaper failure or if he is urinating that much that i need to add a doubler. He is starting Daycare full time in two weeks so i plan to buy a dozen more diapers. I was thinking the BG One Size 4.0....anyone have experience with them? I could stuff them more..I'm just so frustrated! Anyone suggest a diff. diaper? Thanks in advance.

Personally, I don't like the idea of AIOs because you can't stuff them. We use FuzziBunz pockets and I love them because you can add as many inserts/doublers as you want. I know for overnights, my DD pees a LOT, and so we add one hemp doubler to the regular insert and she never leaks. The new style FBs have a really thick (4 layer) insert so for daytime that might be all your DS needs, but you could always get some hemp doublers just in case.

So just posted in another thread about Shammy material. Its relitivel inexpensive, there is the synthetic (cheepest) and the leather chamoise, you can find both in automotive stores or sections. I was thinking the Sham-Wow fabric, its sold at WalMart and maybe Target (but we dont have one here so I am not sure). Its about $20 for the full set and that should be more than enough for a diaper stash. They dont fray so you can cut them to any size and not sew. I was reading that you should use them as inserts or with something over top to keep off direct contact with skin. I plan on using these beacuse I will be CD on an insane schedule with Ds#2 and I will need to possibly go some time between changing, it will also be nice if they work well and this one turns into another gallon peer.

Definitely get some pockets, so you can add absorbency to them. We have Bum Genius 3.0 one size. They fit our 26lb, 36in 2 year old. They should fit your boy for quite a bit. I've never used FB, but I'm sure they'd be just fine too. Oh - and the pockets don't have to be anymore work for the daycare, you can unstuff them yourself at home. And obviously they'd be stuffed before you get them to daycare.

Also, pretty much the only time DS leaks out out of diapers is when he has an erection, it just shoots straight out the top or the legs.

We use these in some of our diapers. I recommend sewing at least two layers together, just place on top and stitch 1/4 inches in from the edge. Otherwise the washer gets them all twisty.
