Bad news at Ultrasound today (Update #55)

I was exposed to fifths disease at 8 wks pg and my blood test just confirmed that I had it at 10 wks. My dr suggested I go in for a u/s to check on the baby and monitor blood flow. We had my u/s this afternoon. The baby died a couple of weeks ago. They think it was probably from the fifths disease although there was no way to tell for sure. I am 16wks 3 days today and looks like the baby was 13wks 3 days. At this point my dr sais it is not very likely that I will go into labor on my own any time soon and the risk of infection is high if I wait too long but he has agreed to prescribe mixal proxal (sp?) and my hbmw has agreed to come to the house on mon. and administer it and stay with me so that I can have a home birth. They were unabale to tell the sex of the baby and I would like to keep it intact so that I can try and see.
The catholic cemetary by us buries babies for free so I think we will do that. My oldest son (8) is devistated and we haven't told the little ones yet. They will be home in about 20 min.
Please keep us in your prayers this really really sucks!!!!!!!!!

the u/s pics were beautiful and that makes this even worse. I could see little feet and fingers and toes, the whole deal.

I'm so sorry. I know there are no good words but wanted to lend another shoulder to cry on.

I've used Misoprostol before and can have my experience written up if you'd like to read it. I'm glad your midwife will be with you! I wanted to have the baby at home as well and that's why I did it, it's buried under my hydrangea's out front. I did have a much longer period of cramping on and off that I didn't write up. It would come without warning and would double me over so take caution when driving until you know your on the other side.
