The "Last Night was Living H*ll" thread (Take 2)

Last night I would have packed DD's bags if a non-specific-travelling-community circus came looking for volunteers. I assume she's teething, as all she did was toss and turn and kick and pull my hair and poke my eyes and keep me awake... although her eyes are closed the whole time!

Although this morning she pointed to a picture of a duck and said "Quack!", so all is forgiven.

I thought I'd start a venting thread.. well, just because. Vent away!

Okay, I lol'd. You're awesome.

MY baby also did the same thing a few nights ago, sleepwise, including the oh-so-joyful crawling around on us all night but she's so tired she kept falling on us face first routine. I was similarly perturbed.

Of course the next day she started standing alone, which is a pretty big deal, though if I had just learned something so monumental, I'd celebrate it with a nap. She failed to take the hint.

Milestone sleep disruptions are sooooo frustrating, but sooooo worth it, though she's been warned that her independent living skills should be the next thing she comes up with, because I am about useless on no REM sleep.

Ah, yes--DD fell face first into my stomach a few times. Wouldn't it take less energy and be so much more pleasant to just, oh, say, stay sleep?

Tonight we gave up trying to put her down and took her back to sit with the company we had over. They just left and I rocked her for about 10 minutes and she went out like a light. Woo hoo! Fingers crossed tonight involves less gymnastics and more snoozing.

Well, we had a few night's worth of good sleep, and thankfully I got a nap yesterday, as she spent the hours of 3am-8am last night kicking the everlovin' snot out of me. Swaddled her up, which made her cry the most angry, outraged cry I've heard in 8 months. Lather, rinse, repeat. It was a terrific night.

I showed her a picture of a duck and she just patted it, so I guess there's nothing all that exciting on today's horizon.

Wahhhhahaha! If only ducks were the true test of how a day was going to unfold. Ah, well.

Last night I either slept through the kicking or DD was particularly good.
