forum etiquette

What is forum etiquette regarding cross-posting? I have a question that I've asked at MDC, but after I posting, I thought I might get more/different responses at another forum I sometimes visit. Can I just copy/paste, or is that taboo? Is it ok if I put a disclaimer in both posts? Or....?

We ask that members first place their question in the forum it would best belong in (say Health & Healing for example) and then if they have one other forum they'd like to cross post to, keep that second post to just a basic "Hey, could you all please check out my question in Health & Healing? {LINK} Thanks!" That second thread can be bumped up as much as you'd like.

The basic reason we do this is to keep the topic all in one more easily found/searchable place.

Thanks for checking! We love that.

And actually, this is a good thing to add to my FAQ, so thanks for the idea!

I think she means posting at MDC and posting at notMDC, not posting in two forums here at MDC. I think.

Ahhh. Thanks for clarifying!

I think as long as it's YOUR thread it's fine...doing it with someone else's thread is probably the no-no.

It isn't an issue as long as you don't later post "They are not agreeing with me on x forum! Please go and tell them they are wrong!" or something similar
