Soy-free quercetin?

Just discovered the allergy medicine Allertame I'm giving DS while we figure out what he's allergic to contains soy. Anyone have a good alternative? I'm not sure which brands to search out. Thanks!

Twinlabs makes an allergy-friendly vitamin C + quercetin. When I inquired (which was more than a year ago, so you might want to check again), the quercetin was derived from the Saphora japonica tree. (And the C in this one and their Allerg-C is derived from sago palm, so there's no corn either.)

I checked out Twin Lab, and it has 500mg of quercetin per capsule...isn't that an awful lot? The ones our Dr gave him only had 80mg. I don't want to OD him. He's about 70lbs. Any thoughts?

Honestly, I have no idea what a recommended value is for children, so I can't speak to that. But I can tell you that the Twinlab capsules are really easy to open- you could just sprinkle a little of the capsule on some food or something.
