Want to do a Green Smoothie Cleanse with me?

Hi all! I just bought a Blendtec blender and I'm loving green smoothies lately. I've also been heavily binging on sugar for the last week and I'm thinking of starting a Green Smoothie Cleanse on Monday for at least 3 days (nothing but green smoothies - water, greens, fruits, flaxseed, ?)

Does anyone want to join me? I need to rid my body of all this junk I've been eating lately It'd be great to see what others are blending and to have the support of others.

Also, if you've done something like this before - is it true that there can be symptoms like sore throat, rashes, etc. when cleansing?

Thanks!

I did a green smoothie cleanse inadvertently not that long ago. More for weight purposes. But anyhow I def. went into detox mode. I'm not up for another one just yet, but I will keep up with the thread. I drink green smoothies almost everyday. I have the book "Green Smoothie Revolution" It has over 200 recipes and a wealth of info. I've also interviewed the author and her daughter before. Great info in the book and great recipes. I highly recommend it.

Thanks! I think I will buy that book. What did "detox mode" consist of for you? Just curious

Ah I recognize the author from the Simply Raw DVD my mom lent me. I'm excited to read the book!

Well it's never super pleasant for me TBO.
I tend to get headaches, no energy at first-but that is more b/c of lack of sugar and caffeine, not so much the smoothies. The detox part is usually this achy feeling for me. I just don't feel quite right. But I can function and do my normal activities; but I def. don't feel wonderful. I am also very sensitive to my body and so I swear I can feel stuff leaving my body. The yuck just oozing out of my pores. So I drink a ton of water, which i should be doing anyways, but when I am detoxing I am serious about flushing it all out.

Victoria Boutenko , the author is great! Her books and videos and such are really fantastic. I love my Green Smoothie book!

Good luck, OP. I am just getting started with green smoothies, so I don't have much advice, but they sure are yummy! I'm nursing my youngest still and I don't want to do any type of cleanse until he's done. I'd be interested to hear how it goes for you though!

Thanks for the book recommendation, Jamie. I've been debating buying that one. I have one of her books to pick up at the library today (Green for Life) but the other ones all have wait lists (there are 60 people waiting for the Green Smoothie Revolution!!). I'm trying not to buy books unless I will really use them a lot, but that one sounds like it might be worth it.

I plan to do this as soon as my son weans . . . but that's hopefully a few years away. But I'll cheerlead from the sidelines!

My almost 3 year old is still nursing as well. I hadn't thought that it might affect her negatively (I'm hoping she starts sleeping better now that I am cutting out caffeine for a bit actually). I have thrush right now from all the sugar so I'm hoping that improves quickly. I was planning on just feeding her the smoothies as well but letting her follow her instincts to eat what she needs on top of that.

I can't believe there is a waiting list of 60 people for that book! That is awesome! I bought mine on Kindle and read it over the weekend.

Anyway, I'm starting today so wish me luck!
