3rd trimester, pulse-like movement from baby?

Another strange movement from this little one (I swear, she is SO different than our other three!)...

...I'm about 35 weeks, and in the last week or so I've noticed she is sometimes moving rhythmically, rapidly, almost like she is breathing/hiccupping to the pace of MY heartbeat. It's not my heartbeat exactly--I can take my pulse and feel that the beat is just slightly off, but it's that rapid. Her whole body moves, and it can last for a couple of minutes. I've NEVER felt that during a pregnancy before.

What is she doing in there? Anyone know? Anyone else feel this?

sounds like fast hiccups. My little girl gets them several times a day right now, sometimes MUCH faster than others. like right now Im getting one every 10 seconds or so, but when i woke up it was comparable to my heartbeat.

Great question! I will to see what the momma's here think!

I have felt my baby do this, and always assumed he was hiccuping. Also, in the last week I have felt a "bubbly" sensation. He will move to one side of my stomach and I can feel somthing... bubbling. Tiny "pops" that feel like air bubble bursting under my skin... Maybe someone knows what this is?!?

MP: Yup, kind of like a crinkling bubbling popping sound, but I can't hear them every time. Oh, and sometimes it feels like his feet get kind of stuck together and when he fights to free them there is an audible pop! It was so loud and such an aggressive feeling in my skin that I was worried that he could hurt himself in there!

I will have to go and look for that August popping post.

aha! I just came back from there if it's the amnion and chorion explanation, but it doesn't exactly sound the same, maybe just because she doesn't talk about the "bubbles popping" idk... Thank you for looking it up!

Dd1 did that. After she was born, she did it when she was sleeping. She must of been practicing breathing. Her whole little body would go up and down while she was asleep. SO cute.

I was feeling the baby doing that while I had an ultrasound 2 days ago and she was rhythmically sucking for quite some time... (btw - its crazy that you can see their tongues moving in their jaw during an ultrasound!) It may be something different for you but that was my recent experience!
ETA: I'm 38+ weeks
