First Trimester and VERY VERY VERY HIGH TSH levels

Anyone been there and come out okay?

I'm worried. We are 10 weeks tomorrow and have had one scan at 7 showing a beating heart, well formed baby, yolk sac, all that. Well, doc calls and says my tsh came back really high; he was wondering if I went off my meds. No, of course not. The range for tsh is .3 (or maybe it's .03) to 3. Mine was 38.8.

!!!

So now I'm worrying about all sorts of things. Doubled my medicine, but that takes awhile to work, and still, I've been hypo for so long....

Oh my...

well, for one, if you have thyroid problems pregnancy can throw it all out of whack (for me personally it is that I get postpartum thyroiditis! Hypothyroidism every time I have a baby for a year or two postpartum)

This is why they check again. Upping the meds was the right move and I am sure now your doctor will be monitoring your TSH levels even more closely!

Theres really not much more you can do than keep a close eye on your levels and adjust your medicine accordingly.
