Okay so I was reviewing the pictures from Dr Kotlow that he includes in his article about lip ties and cavities. I then went ahead and checked out my son's lip and it REALLY looks to me like he has at least a 3rd or 4th degree lip tie. I tried the "finger sweep" to see if I could tell if he had posterior tongue-tie too, but I just dont know what I am doing enough to tell. But the lip is glaringly obvious. And I have always had difficulty getting him to "pooch" his upper lip while nursing, which is part of why he tends to slip off and "nipple nurse."

I am including a picture and you guys tell me what you think. Keep in mind that the picture kind of stinks because he was fighting me like a champ while I was trying to take it.

I am trying to link it directly:

If not you can see it here:

I have a dentist my doula directed me to that I need to contact tomorrow. Where do I go from here? What if he DOES have this, what do I do now?

A little background: We have had TONS of latching and supply problems since day four. I have never been able to produce enough to feed him, even when pumping every two hours I only get about 8 oz total. I am currently taking domperidone to try and up supply and have seen NO improvement in about 5 weeks. You name it, I have done it to try and increase supply. I am not wondering if we are dealing with a lip tie, and possibly posterior tongue tie which has sabotaged our nursing relationship. He is almost 5 months old now.
