I Really Like My Work thread - Page 3

Count me in too--I'm a labor and delivery nurse and while I can moan about the hospital protocols until I'm blue in the face, at the end of nearly every day I get to see a baby be born, coo'd over and kissed by people who love him or her.

I work 12 hour rotating day/night shifts and I think that it's given my husband a much better connection to our daughter---we parent much more egalitarian than I think would have otherwise.

I'll chime in here. I too love my job. I am the primary breadwinner in our family and work long hours but I truly love my job and the company I work for.

I work as a Salesforce.com Developer for a medical staffing company. The company is very family friendly and just an all around great company. I get to travel some but not alot. I also work from home two days a week. It is important for me to be here as much as I can when my girls get out of school especially now that my older one is almost ready to go into Junior high. I am hoping to work more from home next year when she goes off to Junior High. It is more important to me to know what she is up to and what her friends are up at this age than it was when she was an infant or a toddler, kwim. I worked alot of hours when she was very young in order to get our family to a place that I could be home when she gets off the bus in her early teen years.

I like my work a lot! I'm happiest when I'm really into it. I am a sales and marketing strategist/consultant for small publishers.
