I discovered today that the deer had eaten the top third of half my row of peas -- I thought I'd just smashed them down while covering to protect from hail. Anyway -- some of the peas are regenerating shoots of new leaves etc. from where they were snipped off by the deer.
I looked in my "Garden Primer" and it says nothing about cutting peas back and getting a second crop --has anyone tried this? My snow peas are starting to die down and if I could cut them off 6 inches off the ground or so and get new peas from them, that would be very cool.
(Both varieties are the tall vining versions - Mr. Big, and Carouby de Maussanne)
