DD is 20 months. I had never heard of EC until she was about 12 months but we had kind of been doing it since about 9 months. She has been in panties full time (awake hours) since about 17 months and about a month ago stopped wearing diapers at nap as well. She was still wearing g giapers with the disposable insert at night (the cloth leaked a few times) until a few weeks ago when she started asking for panties at bed time (she was usually dry all night but not always). Long story shorter she is still peeing at night quite a bit. It is usually if she cries for more than a few seconds (like when I came to bed last night and was going to the bathroom, brushing my teeth and she had to wait, or if I refuse to nurse her for the 7 millionth time in an hour). We have a waterproof pad under us with a sheet on top of it, plus her blankies so the laundry adds up quick. Last night at midnight I put a diaper on her since she wet the 1st pad at midnight and if she wet the second we were out of options. Anyway, just wondering what you would do. She continues to want panties at bedtime but will probably not object too strongly to diapers. I just don't want to undo so much good work.

I would put her in diapers at bedtĂme till she is able to wake herself up to use the bathroom. (or you are able to anticipate and take her before she wets the bed)
I would let her have the panties too, over the diaper, and hopefully she would be happy. You can tell her she can have the panties with no diaper when she is able to keep dry at night. If she seems determined to try maybe you can help her chart her progress with a sticker chart or something.
That is just what I would do. I put my 2 1/2 yr old DD back in diapers at night for a couple of weeks when she was going thru an upset and wetting the bed a lot. No one (not me, DH, or her) was prepared to deal with changing the sheets in the middle of the night every second night. Besides which, it can't be very nice for a LO to wake up in a cold, wet bed. I was matter-of-fact about it and didn't try to make DD feel bad about having to wear them.
Fortunately, the bedwetting phase passed and now she doesn't wet the bed anymore. Tho she doesn't use the potty at night either, and I won't consider her night time PT till I see proof that she is able to wake herself up and ask for the potty.
You mentioned night time nursing, as that decreases you may see her sleep dry. (My DD started sleeping dry only after nightweaning). But if you are both awake anyway, why not try pottying her next to the bed before nursing back to sleep?

Thanks Heather. On the rare occassion that she wakes up and complies (as opposed to screaming for milk) she will use the potty during the night but most of her nursing we are both pretty much asleep for. It amazes me that there are nights when she nurses frequently and can go 12 hours without peeing but other times it is hit or miss. Anyway your reply made me feel better about using diapers and I did for a few nights but she kept screaming that they were tight so a few nights ago I put it on pretty loose (gdiapers) and then it leaked because I had it so loose! I figured I could either buy the next size up in gdiapers or invest in a few more pairs of waterproof trainers from ecwear and I went with the latter. So far so good...

Our situation was quite similar. I didn't really know much about ECing when my YDD was a baby, but we had been sorta doing it since she was 7 months old. It started because she had difficulties with constipation once she started eating solids. We would take her to the toilet to let gravity assist her. It got to where she would only poop on the toilet-- long before she expressed any interest in actual PLing.
Likely as a result of her early ECing influence, our DD Pled pretty early, just like yours. She was *almost* there by 17 months, so we put her in panties full-time. By 19 months her daytime Pling was complete. But she would still have accidents at night. They were random, but frequent enough to be bothersome. We had the same issues, she didn't *want* to wear diapers to bed. I probably could have pushed the issue, but I didn't want to make her feel badly or to set her back by forcing her to wear something that she felt she was too "big" for.
Our solution was probably not one that would appeal to many here. While I have always been a die-hard cloth diaperer, CDing through pretty much any obstacle, I just couldn't force my daughter to wear cloth when it was so OBVIOUS to her that she was wearing a diaper. I tried lightly stuffing her FBs and pulling them on like panties, and it just wasn't happening. So I bit the bullet and bought some nasty sposie pull-ups. They had Dora printed on them (and Aurora loved Boots) so they appealed to her right away. Plus, the feeling was so different from what she was used to that she had no problem accepting the idea that they were special nighttime "panties".
We used the pull-ups for a couple months (from about 21 months until shortly after she turned 2). Her accidents gradually became less-frequent. When we moved her to her own room not long after her 2nd B-day, her new routine helped to solidify the idea of pottying before bed. Plus, sleeping in her own room effectively night-weaned her... so she wasn't constantly taking in fluids while sleeping. These factors combined have led us to the point where she wears nothing but regular panties to bed. She's 26 months old and we haven't bought a pack of sposies in about 1½ months. I think we had to buy 3 packs total. BWe probably wouldn't have even used that many (as she didn't wet the bed every night) but they were surprisingly hard to re-use. The material just doesn't stand up to continual wear.
Anywho, that may not be what you were looking for, but it was what worked for us. Good luck! I hope you find a solution soon.

yeah I'd use dipes at night. Well, I do still for both of my kids.
my DS was PLed completely by 22m and at almost 6 STILL wets the bed frequently enough that he wears a diaper at night.
my DD is probably wet in the AM once every 2 weeks or so (she's 15m) but I keep a fitted cotton dipe and cover on her just in case.

While I am waiting for the 2 new pairs of waterproof pull up trainers to arrive the battle has continued. I only have one of those to use now and I accidentally left it at work on Friday so we had a few nights where we did the "NO DIAPER" plea and the "TOO TIGHT" cry but she did end up wearing her g diapers. I'm hoping the new "panties" come tomorrow because she is wearing the 1 pair now and it is no fuss whatsoever. It is still hit or miss on her going or not going at night with no method to the madness so I hope this solution continues to work!
