dd's best friend has measles, what do i need to know?

I have two children, ages 9 and almost 6, who have not been vaccinated. They are healthy and happy, and we live in a close knit family community. One of the children in our community, who is the best friend of my 9 year old has the measles. I am assuming my dd will get the measles, since they are together every day, and have been during his entire contagious period. I am giving her vitamin C, and echinacea, and boosting her immune system, but is there anything else i can do? And what if she gets the measles? We do mostly herbal/homeopathic meds, and am interested what i could do to ease the virus, if anything.

One interesting thing is that my son had a high fever and a rash, sore eyes, sore tummy, two weeks ago. It lasted almost a week, and he was fine. It wasn't diagnosed by a Dr, as I kept an eye on him and he was doing fine, fever was going down, he was tired but he wasn't lethargic, he was eating and drinking...About a week later my daughter had a fever for two days, but no rash. I am wondering if he could have had the measles?

Any thoughts, advice or links are appreciated! thank you!!

if she does get measles, Vit A is important in the treatment of infectious diseases like measles. you can give quite high doses of it for acute conditions but i don't have the numbers in front of me. good luck!

I use primarily homeopathy. Of course you always look for the remedy that covers the totality. Big measles remedies can be aconite, apis, gelsemium, pulsatilla, sulphur and of course, morbilinum are ones to consider.

I'd also be using vitamin A and D. Best of luck.
