To take Immodium or not- TMI

I'm pretty sure I'm having a girl as I never felt like this with DS. Not sure what caused it if it was something I ate or if it's just that I'm now 5 weeks pg but my tummy is not good since yesterday with some diarrhea. I'm not one to jump in and just take meds even if they are a Category B (esp in the first tri) but if I have to I have to, kwim? If you were me, would you give it another day on the BRAT diet or just take one dose and not worry?

I had the same thing early on and just dealt with it. I was too nervous about taking something like that, but this is my first so I may be more cautious than necessary. It did get better, by the way. Sorry you're not feeling well.

I had it for a couple of weeks this time, then it eventually went away later like 9 weeks or so.

I would not take immodium unless I was in some desparate circumstance where I had to be on a bus with no toilet for many hours. It's not good for your body, even when non-pregnant, because you still get dehydrated and keep the bug inside your guts when your body is trying to flush it.

Keep hydrated and stay within sprinting distance of a toilet!

Thank You! I guess I'll just eat up my bananas and bagels today!

Enjoy the runs while they last,............who knows, next week you may be constipated! I have been constipated the last 7 weeks, and now I have the opposite problem! I am grateful!

Perfectly natural, in my experience. For a while during my first tri, it felt like I was throwing up from both ends (sometimes almost at the same time). Miserable! Don't think it was anything to do with what I was eating, just crazy hormones at work. I rode it out without drugs, and soon the constipation returned... can't say I was wild about that, but second tri has been much better, so hope you will be feeling better soon!

i had the big D multiple times a day for 3 weeks straight. i ended up taking Immodium one time, as i had to leave the house and my bowels were very unpredictable at that time. i only took a half a dose though. but if you don't HAVE to take anything, i wouldn't. it will pass.
