Super fussy/cranky at bedtime

Lately, while putting my 5month old to bed, he seems really fussy/cranky - fingers in his mouth, tons of drool, etc., crying on my shoulder while I'm rocking him (this happened to us twice yesterday - once in the afternoon and he fell asleep on my shoulder and once again after being fed for the night and placed to sleep once he had fallen asleep while eating (he's bottle fed).

Also, when I offered him Hyland tablets, he screams and does NOT want me touching his gums! Could they really be that sensitive? What's going on with my little guy? He did the same thing last Thursday when he was with my FIL, but he fed him and he went back to sleep - no problems. I offerd a bottle last night, but that didn't work and had to rock him while he fussed/cried on my shoulder. He finally fell asleep after about 10 mins.

Could his 'witching hour' be re-occurring or is this really him teething?!

Then how come he screams when I give him the Hylands Tablets? The times when I don't even feel around on his gums?!

I give Cecilia the tablets, but I don't give them to her straight-- I put three tablets into 2 drops of breast milk and make a paste from it, and then I let her suck that off my fingers. Maybe give that a try?

I don't know about the tablets, maybe because something is going into his mouth. Highlands never did a thing for my DS and his teething, FWIW.

Could he just be overtired? I would def say teething could be it though, my DS had his first tooth by 5 months.

You could try the single remedy Chamomillia. You can dissolve it in a small amount of water and give him a spoonful of it.
