Flying during pregnancy - Page 2

Anyone know why night flights have less radiation?
When I was pregnant with my daughter, I flew from the Northeast to Alaska via Atlanta at 25 weeks and did fine. Same trip back came at almost 27 weeks.

This pregnancy I flew from the Northeast to the Northwest at 16 weeks direct. No problems. Same trip back.

I'll fly down south this time around 26 weeks.

I probably wouldn't fly much later than I did, but everything was just fine. I just got up and walked around once an hour or so.

I should clarify, I've had some bleeding and am high-risk due to an uncommon blood incompatability caused by an earlier blood transfusion. My ob/gyn was concerned about bleeding while on the flight. She did say that it was good it was a trans-continental flight as opposed to trans-atlantic so if I started bleeding again, the plane could make an emergency stop."

Not to make you worried but I flew around 32 weeks and had completely unexpected, intense nausea (I never have this flying when not pregnant). Threw up on the plane and in the subway station. I had to call my OB and get the green light on dramamine in order to make the flight back. yuck. Otherwise, I think you should be fine!

I had some nausea on one of my 4 planes (2 there, 2 back) when I went to Michigan. It wasn't severe but it was enough to bug me and make me look around for the barf bag.

Hey, do you think being pregnant could get me out of flying? I made a horrible mistake when buying plane tickets and ended up with a 6 week trip instead of a 2 week trip and I can't afford the fees to change the tickets...
