TF crackers?

Is there any such thing as TF/healthy/soaked/whatever crackers to have around as a quick snack for toddlers? I will admit, my main motivation for making these is because I have quite a collection of mini cookie cutters that I would love to get some use out of, so if there's really no such thing as a healthy cracker we can certainly go without.

Do you have Nourishing Traditions? There is a recipe for "yoghurt dough" that works really well for crackers. Just roll the dough out thin, cut it into the shapes you want, and bake at 350 or so til they look done (8-ish minutes). If you don't have NT I can dig out the recipe later for you.

My children love to gnaw on stale bread. I just make sure to slice up bread before it goes completely stale and let them go to it. I suppose you could use the cutters on the ends of stale bread, and then you're saving food as well!

Thank you! Those recipes both look great. I have some sourdough starter in the fridge, so I will get a batch of those sourdough crackers going tonight! And I used to love wheat thins, so I'm looking forward to trying the other recipe too.

And thanks for the suggestion on saving the bread, EdnaMarie, now I just need to get adventurous and start making sourdough bread (by the way I love your sig).

These are a great and incredibly easy cracker to make. You can add anything you like also, like herbs, but they are great with just a little sea salt also.

I've made the Kitchen Stewardship Wheat Thin Style crackers a couple times and they are very good, really do taste similar to wheat thins. It's a keeper for sure! The one change I recommend to make to any cracker recipe is that it will turn out lighter if you grind soft wheat for them instead of hard wheat.

I just made these crackers this week and ate with kippers and artichoke pesto. I am making another batch, slightly sweetened, to accompany balsamic strawberries over whipped mascarpone for a gathering this weekend. It is such a versatile recipe, thanks!!
