Eating out with multiple intolerances

I was hoping to get some suggestions. DS is 10 months old and seems to be sensitive to dairy/soy and gluten. We pretty much only eat at home as it's so hard to think of things to eat when we are out and about. But, we are traveling in a few days and will need to eat out.

So, I'm trying to think of things that might be safe for me to eat (due to breastfeeding). Do you have any suggestions for safer foods or any types of restaurants that might work out okay?

I'm afraid I'm just going to end up eating salad with no dressing! I also try to stay away from spicy or gassy foods for DS so this is really hard!

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

DS2 just turned 3 and he's still breastfeeding. We are off the top 8 and more, and we usually order baked potatoes and roast chicken (remove skin, no sauce) etc. Sometimes Indian food is ok, but gotta check for dairy (used more in northern indian cusine). I can't take very spicy food either, ds2 actually loves a bit of spice, but generally we opt for milder options.

We usually can't take chinese food because of the presence of soya sauce and fear of MSG and peanut oil.

We recently went on a short trip (3 days) and I baked up a batch of GF biscuits to bring along. It's so much easier when there is a ready snack that we can eat. But after three days, neither of us want to eat it for another month at least, lol! For our last trip (4 days), we stayed in a place with a kitchenette and brought a lot of rice cakes along and rice noodles to cook. (Now we don't want to look at rice cakes anymore, haha) For eating out, we ordered rice and curry, and sandwich with roast chicken. Took the chicken out of the sandwich and put it with the rice for DS2. I took a bit of the curry. The rest of the sandwich (with cheese, sauce and salad separated) went to ds1.

If you need to skip sauces but find the food too dry, you may want to consider bringing along some flaxseed oil or olive oil that you can drizzle over your food.

Oh yeah, you can do fish and seafood right? grilled seafood can be a great option too.

we've been okay at Outback Steakhouse (baked potato, chicken breast sauteed in olive oil, or hamburger "no seasonings" specified, and steamed broccoli). It's been hit or miss at Red Robin (they have an allergy menu but sometimes they're better than others). I like going to Whole Foods for lunch, because they list their ingredients on their buffet. And I always bring rice cakes and peanut butter for a packable snack.

We've got soy & egg (DS), gluten & shellfish (me) and peanut/tree nut (DD). Other than packing as many snacks as we can, what I learned to do is map our route and see what food options there will be. Once I do that I search their websites for allergen information sheets. Either print those out or save them on your computer/handheld to conveniently access them in the car.
