how about dinner for breakfast?

this is inspired by the bfast for dinner thread.

i notice dd and i do this quite a bit - esp. during weekends.

on rare ocassions we do it during the week.

mostly its yummy left overs that we are still dying for

or we really want a dinner type food for bfast. we both really, really enjoy cooking so sometimes we want to cook something big for bfast (not brunch).

it isnt because of lack of time. its all about cravings.

I like chicken for breakfast(and breakfast foods at night). Personally if I eat in the morning I prefer leftovers to a bowl of cereal or toast or something. I don't usually cook dinner food on purpose in the morning(I HATE to have to cook in the morning for some reason) but I will make extra at dinnertime to have the next am.

Tacos are also great breakfast food

We do that sometimes. ds usually wakes up very hungry and we like to cook together. Last winter, we ate squash for breakfast a lot and then it was greens earlier in the summer or beets, depending on what we had from our csa.

We've been really weird and had dinner for breakfast and then breakfast for dinner if we want to.

I have always eaten whatever I want and whatever time of the day.

This usually means something other than breakfast food for breakfast. Leftover turkey dinner, birthday cake, pasta, whatever is in the fridge.

Dinner leftovers for breakfast are the best! Food is food and to me, it really doesn't matter what gets eaten when. When I was growing up, I thought macaroni and cheese WAS a typical breakfast food and I was surprised to find out later that other people didn't think so!

I never eat "breakfast" food in the morning. Leftovers or something like a sandwich are what I prefer. Breakfast stuff doesn't stick with me.

I love having foods other than what is considered typical breakfast.Typical meaning US typical of boxed cereal or other sweets. I do like honey and similar with cheeses, meats, and so on. Ds likes pizza in the am.

No, I like breakfast foods for breakfast. If I end up eating late, like after 10:30, I might eat something lunchy/dinnery, but not before then.

I have a friend who doesn't like breakfast foods, so she always eats spaghetti, burritos, or whatever for breakfast and the smell makes me gag when I spend the night at her house. And she drinks diet Pepsi instead of coffee along with it -- I cannot imagine drinking a soda first thing in the morning.

I guess I'm hard-wired to only eat stuff like toast, pancakes, omelets, coffee, etc. in the mornings!

I love leftovers (not that we often have leftovers) for breakfast!

hey you are in the wrong thread. its dinner for breakfast = Dinfast?

hey that's a good point. i hadnt realised it. i think both dd and i dont really enjoy typical bfast foods. even as a toddler my dd considered cereal as a snack. i guess coz it doesnt stick.

once she went over to her bf's place from her dad's house and said she hadnt had any bfast. it was like noon and my friend was shocked. but she asked and discovered dd 'just' had a bowl of cereal but nothing else. its then i realised because she's used to cooked food in the am.

i have to say recently i got addicted to soda. and there's nothing better than an icy cold soda with lots of ice first thing in the morning

thankfully i am done with it and dont crave it any longer.

however i know lots of people who prefer a caffeinated soda instead of coffee in the morning.

I never do dinner for breakfast. Even if my first meal of the day isn't until the evening, it has to be breakfast food. I can't stomach anything else. It's a bizarre quirk that is occasionally quite inconvenient.

Can't do it. I don't know why, I just only find breakfast foods appealing in the morning.

DS and I only do it when DH is traveling. It's quick and easy and he LOVES it!
When I was pg with DS#2, I made it quite often due to flat out cravings. I would do pancakes, some times hasbrowns, eggs, bacon and toast and wash it all down with OJ. Now wonder I gained 45lbs!!

I strongly dislike the vast majority of breakfast foods. The ones that I can eat is plain yogurt with fruit or plain oatmeal. I usually eat leftovers, pizza if we have it is a favorite of mine and my kids. They eat breakfast foods, but I won't cook in the mornings, back to the hating breakfast food thing, so they usually eat cold cereal, yogurt, leftovers, or DH will fix something once in a while.

Breakfast for dinner sounds so gross to me. I can not live without my coffee though, I don't care if I eat or not, but stand away from the coffee pot!

Cold pizza for breakfast is most excellent. But that's about it.

I like mild breakfast foods for breakfast. And a cold bowl of cereal is all I can handle bright and early sometimes.

i don't like breakfast food really so unless its a breakfast burrito with lots of chile i usually like dinner/lunch food//
cold pizza..... YUM!

I love typical, American breakfast fare.

I also like eating greens in the morning. With some lamb. Sometimes a salad is the best thing I can think to eat first thing in the morn.

Food is food.

Oh, yes, a Coke in the morning! I SWEAR cold caffeine (aka a soda) goes into the bloodstream quicker than hot caffeine (coffee or tea). I drink strong black tea very sweet and Coke still wakes me up quicker!

I would eat pancakes and bacon...or any breakfast food for just about every meal, every day. Dh hates my pancake infatuation.
