My eleven-month-old seems to be having some sort of tummy troubles. She used to sit on the floor and push on her lower abdomen while grunting. We figured she was just trying to poop and she'd work through it.
But then it increased, and for some reason she does this when she's falling asleep now. I either bounce/walk, rock, or nurse her asleep. She tightens her abdominal muscles and holds her breath. She's been fighting sleep while bouncing for the last ten days or so, so I've been rocking her (sitting on my lap facing outward). If I put my hand on her tummy, she pushes on my hand - hard. I've tried helping her push, and massaging in circles. But it still takes twenty to forty minutes for her to gradually stop and go to sleep (not concerned about the length of time to get to sleep - just concerned about the pushing on her tummy).
She seems to be pooping alright most of the time, and doesn't seem to have any food allergies. Does anyone else have a little one who does this? Is it something I should be worried about, or contact her doctor about?
