Feeling guilty..

SO I just dropped my 5th grader off at his first day of school. He has never been homeschooled,. 5yo DS went to preschool last year at the elementary school across the street from our house, and we just made the decision to homeschool him. He is heartbroken today that he cant go to school. I feel so badly about it, because he loved preschool.
I know in my heart that eventually he will realize that this is to his advantage, and that he can spend his days doing fun stuff instead of sitting in class, but I am just feeling mighty guilty right now. I am just wondering if I made the right decision for him, ya know??
Please talk me off the ledge!!! lol

Maybe he is probably thinking about the playground, kids to play with, games, ect. I would try to take him somewhere to have fun and allow yourself to join in on his level. When big brother went to his art class my youngest ds was sad. I packed a small cooler and brought his bike for playtime at the park. If there are other kids..playgroup, library, ect. that might help too. I would focus on the fun part of homeschool first before you dive deep into lessons. It will be easier for him to want to learn if he is feeling good about it all.
