After-Bite relief?

Long story short, DD got eaten alive by mosquitos at playgroup yesterday. She's got bites all over her face and arms. What can I put on them that's non-toxic and baby safe that can help with the itching? I might do an oatmeal bath when she wakes up from her nap (though I don't exactly know how to do that, LOL)

Is calamine lotion safe?

And since an ounce of prevention yadda yadda, is there any non-toxic, baby safe bug repellants available?

If you're breatfeeding, breast milk is supposed to help with the itching and inflammation.....

Or what I do with mine, put a little bit of soap on it and let it dry....works everytime.

I thought about breastmilk, but wasn't sure if it worked in this application. I'll for sure give that a try.

And as for the soap- any kind of soap?

Baking soda made into a paste with water, applied to bites
Baking soda bath
Homeopathic topical, Bite Care or Sting Stop

I have an herbal repellent called kid's armor something or other...seems to help.
I also put long sleeves, long pants, socks, and hats on my children whenever possible.

Witchazel.... it's an anti-inflamatory and an anti-itch, I think.
Anyway, DD1 got eaten alive awhile back and we rubbed WH on her, no itch, not problems, instant relief.

I have a mild tea tree oil ointment by Desert Essence that works well. I also have a lotion called Sting Soothe. It is pretty gentle.

There is a plant that grows in just about every yard, ditch, and roadside (at least here in the east) called common plantain. If you google it, you will find it. Parallel leaf veins are the key id. Chew up some leaves and put on the bites, it is great itch relief.

We use a homeopathic "sting gel" from Nelsons. We've gotten it at Whole Foods and the natural foods section of Wegmans.

This is what we do, totally works! I just tear the leaves in my hand though, chewing would probably be easier.
