I bought the pattern on the spot. Now, I just have to decide with dd what yarn to use. I cannot wait to knit this! Anyone interested in KAL? This is a perfect layering piece for back to school!

That is so cute! What weight yarn/needle size does it call for? I want to make it now.

Isn't it though? Dk weight; but it's 5spi and, along with actual dk weight yarn, Cascade 220 is also recommended. And, as usual, whatever needle you need to get this gauge is what you'll need to use. I can get it with a size 8 needle with something like Patons or Cascade (I'm a tight knitter). She recommends a size 7.

It may seem a bit pricey at $7.00, but the size range goes up to 8 years and it is packed with detailed information. Also, she provides instruction for doing the skirts separately.

I can't let dd see it, she'll want one immediately!

I would so love to see this in crochet (I can't knit). It's the cutest dress! I especially loved it in red with the hood. Add a basket and you've got a Little Red Riding Hood costume. Too adorable!

I just knit the skirt version of this (slightly modified). The instructions were very clear and I hope to knit the entire dress this winter.

I want one. Too bad I don't knit.

THAT is pretty dad-gummed cute, but I've always liked her stuff.

I also LOVE <3 this dress ... this one is free, but the designer has others for sale - I ultimately chose this pattern for layering year round.

My version on ravelry

I love Elena's patterns, too. She's so prolific with her patterns! Your version, and your model, are adorable!
