Dry Itchy Scalp - I just turned 30

It's been going on since before my birthday, but I am obvserving more "ailments" as of late and I think it funny and annoying equally.

My scalp is dry, tender and itchy. Since I've had two kids, my long straight was-blond hair is thicker than it's ever been, even after the postpardum molting process is finished. I've been nursing for the last 3 1/2 years with my two kids and am nearly weaned at this point.

WHY IS MY HEAD SO F'N ITCHY/DRY, and what to do about ?

I wash it about every other night and haven't changed anything in the last 5 years about the products I'm using (standard non holistic, suave shampoo, aveda conditioner). I have read about no 'poo, ACV, and baking soda and am slightly uninspired. I'm open for options, but I do really like just getting in the shower with a bottle of x and a bottle of y to do hair cleaning. What about nutritional options? What causes scalp issues besides a wrong-for-me shampoo/cond?

Today, I can make it snow on the dark carpet, scratching my head!

I had dandruff through my 20's until i went to cosmetology school and started using professional products. Since it sounds like you're not interested (uninspired, you said ) in natural products, i'd recommend that. Do you happen to know anyone with their cosm. license? B/c we can get them half-price at the prof. beauty supply store.

On another note: i've been no-pooing for over a year, and i agree, i'd rather jump in the shower and wash my hair with sweet-smelling foam, BUT my hair and scalp look sooo much nicer if i no-poo than if i use anything else. No flakes, either.
