Purging and decluttering, OMG, feels so good!

I feel so good that I have piles of books, decks and stuff to gift to some of my friends. It feels better to be giving some really nice things(but really, just extra stuff to have around cluttering up my space) to people I really care about.

In fact, the fact that people I love are getting stuff, it made me more likely to throw stuff in the pile, imagining them receiving it.

I'm only selling one thing (a brand new deck) and trading a couple of other decks, but everything else is free and clear

It does feel good doesn't it!

I am always giving to strangers but that still makes me feel good...

I was reading your post thinking "how many decks can one woman have?" then I read your siggy - LOL - I get what kind of deck you mean now.

Congrats on the decluttering! Can you share what inspired you? I find I need to have some motivation or inspiration rather than just saying "I need to declutter".

We just did The Great Book Purge and I made separate piles of books to send to my BIL overseas; to donate to LLL; and to donate to church. The rest all went to the library, but I really try to give books away where they have the highest chance of being read! And it does feel good!

about the decks, yes, I am an obsessed collector, I just got rid of the ones I didn't *love*

My motivation was sort of to pull myself out of a funk. I had some free time and usually i get in a rut of being on the computer, straightening up and doing the dishes and then I am done. I started with one bookshelf. I neatened and decluttered . It looked so good that I kept going. I have boxes of scrapbook supplies out on the floor looking junky. I am going to start working on it this week (upcoming) I feel good about it

ETA, music is really important too. I put my ipod on shuffle.

I thought you were giving away a brand new skateboard, and I was all, what the duce? Why?! heh. Getting rid of stuff does feel great, and it feels really great when we give to friends that we know will have fun with whatever the things are!
