dolls: nursing slings, etc instead of bottles?

Where can I get doll items for the breastfeeding, cloth diapering /EC, cosleeping, attachment parenting idea, instead of the ubiquitous bottles/cribs/pacis/jarred babyfood/formula/diaper bags, etc etc etc?

My DD is more interested in baby dolls now that I am expecting our 3rd, and we see on EVERY kid program out there, whether it's Veggie Tales, Arthur, or any other, that babies are nearly universally depicted as being placed alone in cribs with pacifiers in their mouths, and pushed in strollers with bottles.

It bothers me and her. I want to support her ability to practice our style of mothering, but can't find the accessories like nursing slings, dolly cloth diapers and tiny potties, etc in any local stores. It's all bottles and pacis, cribs and strollers, period. Depressing.

It is. I bought a generic, but cute, doll with the full set - clothes, daipers, bottles... then I just trashed the bottles and gave her the rest. Also, ergo makes a baby ergo, which is expensive but my DD loves putting her stuffed anumals in it on her back. Or you could make your own mini sling....

This is what I was going to suggest. You'll find a lot of cute stuff on Etsy.

Moby also makes a little sling for kids and their dolls.
As for your local store not having anything suitable, just shop online!

we found dd a children's ring sling on ebay. she does have baby bottles, but she tells me that they have pumped mama milk in them . she also has a doll pnp that she uses for her dolls naps just like we use the big one for naps sometimes. she cycles thru which of her dolls sleeps with her and which sleep in the pnp at night. and she nurses her dolls frequently. i'm thinking about getting her a children's ergo for the birth of this baby, just waiting to see if it appears on kidsteals again.

hey there! DD- 27 months, loved this so much!

http://www.etsy.com/transaction/37718269

you could make one yourself- PM and we can talk about how to do that- or you could check my link again in a couple days- i have a whole bunch more im making to sell right now. I hope that doesnt sound to much like I am promoting my stuff.....there are other people making other similar items too on etsy.

DD likes this style with buckles rather than the sling because she loves to use the buckles, she is still carried in the ergo (not a sling) and it stay on her while she plays.

The crunchier toy websites have them: Nova Natural/Palumba/A Toy Garden/etsy. I'd probably just make stuff myself. What about just using a playsilk?

I'd find those types of images really offensive. Our kids don't watch tv but I edit out books with childrearing that makes me cranky. A Babar book we received as a gift had the doctor telling the elephant mother to "supplement" because the twins weren't "getting enough." Left our house the same day it came in. As I read DH's head popped and said, ooh, that won't last long.

Agree with Etsy, we just got a bunch of doll cloth diapers from there and there is a site I found with adorable baby slings that I want to get one for DD as well, and they are fairly inexpensive as well which is nice.
