Can't wait for the third book that comes out in a few weeks!

Me too! I just re-read Catching Fire because I wanted to have everything fresh in my mind.

Right now I'm trying to figure out where I can ship my kids to on August 24 so I can read ALL DAY!!

I'm thinking that Mockingjay will be mainly about the resistance movement against the capital. I'm worried about the contestants that the capital picked up during the break out of the games, like Peeta. Interested to see what District 13 looks like!

I just re-read them too. I also realized I picked up to work 8-24, 8-25 and 8-26!!!! Oh well, it'll force me to draw them out and extend the fun When the last Harry Potter book came out I forced myself to slow down, otherwise it's over too quick!

I'm wondering if Mockingjay will be in Peeta and Katniss's two viewpoints, like the 4th Twilight book (if you've read them). I want to know what's happening in the Capitol.

Can't wait!!!!!!!!

ps-- did you hear they may be a movie in the making?

Yeah, I did hear about the movie. The only thing that concerns about that is how much control Suzanne Collins will retain. I really enjoyed the Percy Jackson and the Olympians book series. The movie was AWFUL! I wonder if Rick Riordan just got handed a wad of cash and let them do whatever!

So I worry that the book will not live up to my hopes and dreams! The only series that I feel has been faithfully shown in film is the Harry Potter series. Sometimes the things they have done for that movie series are better than what I dreamed up in my mind while reading the books.

I'm also worried that it will become a Team Peeta/Team Gale thing like with Twilight. I've read the Twilight series, but honestly Hunger Games blows that series out of the water. I do think the relationship between Katniss and Peeta is interesting and very integral to the story, but I hope it doesn't get changed around to suit the demographic the production company is grasping for.

I really enjoyed the first two books and am on the list at the library for the last one, when it comes out. I can't wait to see how the series is resolved!

I can't wait! I'm #91 on the waiting list for it at the library, so I'm sure I'll end up preordering it from amazon soon instead. I've LOVED this series so far!!!

Just got it at Wal Mart for $12.59 this morning!!!!!!

Anyone had midnight release parties in their areas? None here That's OK, I'd just be up all night reading. As it is, not sure how I'll find time today. Keep your fingers crossed my 3 year old is good at entertaining herself!

Off to sneak in a chapter....

I got mine last night. A local bookstore had a Mockingjay party, and one of the cool things you could do was enter a writing piece saying how you would survive, given that our town was the arena. Lots of kids and adults entered, as did my oldest. She didn't win, but she had fun doing her entry. They also had a trivia quiz, little gift bags w/mockingjay pins for the kids, and a very festive atmosphere!

I haven't started reading it b/c my oldest took it instantly. She's done with it, and she's not allowed to talk about it at all until I'm done.
