best vitamins and foods for stress

I know we must support our bodies during times of stress. What would be suggested for help in this area?
What exactly do epsom salts do during baths also? I heard that can be helpful but what does that do?

The Diet Cure

Two books, basically the same information, though one deals more with supplements and the other with food.

so far from what I've read is to include extra B vitamins and magnesium.

She (the author of the above-mentioned books) also mentions various amino acids to deal with various types of stress and anxiety and depression and other related problems.

Off hand, I can't remember all the details. I did get them through the library, however.

From my own personal experience, I take start dosing with vitamin c (ascorbic acid) when under extreme stress - I'll take a large initial dose and then every hour or so a smaller dose (like 1 gram) - and dose to tolerance (i.e. loose stools/diarrhea).
