it can be purchased or homemade; i don't care. i'm just looking for a face lotion for my sensitive skin. i've been able to switch over to all natural homemade products with everything else, except for face lotion. i currently use olay complete for sensitive skin, but would love to find something better. TIA.

I have very sensitive skin and use organic virgin coconut oil on my face.

I second coconut oil. I also like olive oil (mostly because my husband is thoroughly disgusted by the smell of coconut so when the smell is on me... we have issues... hehe)

really? i have virgin coconut oil, so i may have to try it. it seems so oily though, like it would clog my pores or leave my face greasy. i typically moisturize every morning and evening, so i guess i'll try it tonight. do you just use a pea size and rub it in and leave it on? thanks.

I use a small amount and leave it on. I put a thin layer on morning and night. I haven't found it to cause clogged pores. I do have dry skin though.

wow!! so far. so good! i've been using the virgin coconut oil & it's working wonderfully! i've only used it at night (as i wanted to see how my skin reacted to it), but i've had no reaction whatsoever. i plan to use it as my a.m. and p.m. moistuizer now! so thank you ladies for helping me! i'm amazed that something i already had in my cabinet would have worked so well! thanks again!

I LOVE rose hip oil. I too have very sensitive skin, and have for over a year now only used rose hip oil, or a combo of rho and avocado oil. I put it on immediately after washing my face. My skin has never felt so soft! I really love it!

elizawill, so glad it is working for you

Jojoba oil all the way! Since I started using it 3 years ago -- to wash AND to moisturize -- all break-outs have gone away (and I suffered for DECADES).

@Marni: How exactly do you use the jojoba oil?
Especially for the washing part? How much do you need?

Both olive oil and coconut oil do NOTHING for me as a facial/body moisturizer. (coconut is a great deodorant, though)

I started using shea butter and LOVE it. I wet my face a bit, apply the shea butter and it soaks in beautifully. I have never had a natural or commercial moisturizer work as well.

I use aloe gel in the summer and Aubrey Organics Vegecol Sensitive skin, hands down it's the best stuff you can purchase (at least for my skin). I've tried the oil thing and it doesn't work that well, the oil sort of just sits on my skin. If I use aloe gel right before and before the aloe dries I use a bit of CO it works better.

I'm in the same boat - super sensitive, acne prone skin. I was happy to see that Aubrey Organics Vegecol scored well at:

BUT it has retinol, and I'm pregnant so this is a definite no-no. I'm going to try EVCO, though I just can imagine that smearing 100% oil on my face would be a good thing. Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised

Lately, I have been using Badger Balm's Evolving Oil. I really like it. I use it mostly around my eyes, but also on dry areas of my face.
I also have sensitive, acne prone skin (rosecea)

I have very sensitive skin as well. Every time I get out of the shower, before drying off, I immediately coat my skin in either coconut oil or olive oil. I also like to make my own face cream. I haven't made it in a while, but it's pretty easy to make (a lot like making mayo). I have the recipe around here someplace (we just moved into our house on Friday so I'm surrounded by boxes) and would be happy to share if you're interested in trying it.
