Where do you sell/buy?

Hey mamas-

Every time its time for some new dipes I get so intimidated by the online options! I've only ever bought new for that very reason but I would like to try and buy and or trade with other mamas.

I have a couple things I want to sell but I have never done it before and I want to make sure to get a fair price so I can afford some new stuff for my stash.

Any tips on where to go and how to proceed?

www.diaperswappers.com

Go to their forums. You'll be well taken care of in the FSOT area.

I would suggest checking out the WAHMarket here, and/or visit FSOT (for sale or trade) forums on sites like www.diaperswappers.com and see what other mamas are selling their stashes for. Compare your dipes to the ones you see being sold, then you can get a better idea of what to price them at. Typically, diapers that are brand new can be sold for the original value, although sometimes the seller will knock off a couple bucks to get rid of them. The rougher a diaper's shape, the deeper the discount.

another diaperswappers lover here. Be careful though, I got addicted, STILL haven't gotten around to selling anything but bought a bunch of new dipes

I use to do it here but when they changed the trading post to pay per listing people stopped using it. it's been changed back but it really never picked back up again like it use to. I do like diaperswappers but even there people still want too much for used. ive had my best luck at amitymama

i buy and sell on diaperswappers. it is very addictive, so buyer beware! and check out the FAQs before listing anything, they do have a few particular rules that you'll want to follow if you decide to sell. also, people over there tend to buy and sell from people with more posts and feedback, so you may want to wade into some of the chat threads so people know who you are. good luck

So many people suggest diaperswappers, but I just cannot stand that site. Way too busy, way too many rules to follow in order to post a listing (even more if you want to post links/pics in your listing)...I just don't have that much time to devote to "Becoming active in the community" just to try to sell some dipes.

I've had good luck in the past, buying and selling dipes here on MDC in the FSOT Diapering forum. But recently I've had some dipes listed and haven't had any interest in them for several weeks. It is really hit or miss here at MDC. I honestly don't think many members even KNOW there is a FSOT forum at the bottom.

I've also had some good luck with my local Craigslist. You have to check daily, and a good find is rare, but I like being able to see and touch what I am buying.

You might want to check local stores that sell cloth dipes to see if they have any seconds for sale. Some stores do a "Try before you Buy" program and have some used dipes in good shape as a result.

This site runs like ebay, for diapers. Auction-style, with a feedback system.
