Having a bad day with DS1

So the boys and I just left the OT's office, where DS1 screamed bloody murder for the last hour. He also kicked, hit, and scratched the OT repeatedly. He has not had a screaming fit this bad for nearly a year. We've had a bad day all around - he is SO unregulated and squirrelly. 'I have really tried hard to work with him since DS2 was born, but I am utterly exhausted by his behavior. Add to that my severe anemia and caring for 51/2 week old DS2, and I am beyond tired! Things were starting to get a little better, since DS2 birth, but today was definitely a major backslide.

I'm really starting to freak out about what will happen this fall. I start teaching part time at a community college in a couple weeks. DS1 starts preschool a week later. I am terrified that he is going to get thrown out of school for acting out and screaming. I'm feeling pretty alone and could really use some support right now.

We started ds (6) on a liquid magnesium supplement towards the end of the school year and it took the edge off his behavior. But it is not enough for him to do well in school next year so we finally got him in to a child psych who diagnosed him with ADHD and I'm thinking Asperger's also.

We waited a long time before getting any help because we thought he might grow out of it. We are on the wait list to see a developmental ped and may also do OT after we get the eval back.

Sorry, I should have included his diagnosis: SPD. He has a difficult time with self-regulation. He's been receiving weekly OT for the past 7 months.

However, I'm currently calling some psychologists too, just because I'm not sure that SPD is the only thing going on.

Ds has some sensory issues too.
